Embrace Your Dream
Winnie grew up in Steelpoort (Kgoshi Phasha) LimpopoProvince and started singing at a tender age. She recalls standing on top of a big flat stone (Lwala) and holding a stick as a symbol of a Microphone - 1 Corinthians 3:11-14 “if any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive reward”.
She left school in 1998 after passing Grade 11 at Mashupje High School to pursue her passion for music. Her mother was supportive as she had heard her daughter sing at school and in choirs. As a result, that decision paid off.
Today, Winnie is a decorated gospel star with accolades and nominations that include a 2005 Kora Africa Music Award, coupled with a number of nominations from highly esteemed music award houses such as the SA Music Awards and Metro FM Music Awards. She has also been voted Best Gospel Artist of the year in 2006 from TUT FM, won the One Gospel Best Song of the Year award for Hakena Nako in 2008 and the 2010 Best Female Artist at the Crown Gospel Awards and many more!!!
